Fa-La-La-La-La...La-La-La-La!

Had my Annual Sistahs Christmas party get together last night and it was awesome! We usually take turns hosting and this year I decided to host. A few of the ladies in attendance, I didn't get a chance to get pics of before they left! Anyhow, we did an ornament exchange, had some yummy food, and played some pretty fun games. Even tried some Pinterest thangs! I tried some Chili Queso Dip...was supposed to taste like Chilis Queso...and it was tastin like it! BOMB! Also tried a Peppermint Martini....yumm...but strong! I am not a Martini drinker, but it looked cute, looked rather festive and why not!? You only love once right! In the drink was...Vanilla Vodka, Peppermint Schnapps, Club Soda, Crushed Peppermint around the rim of glass and peppermint at the bottom of the glass..the biz! Everyone enjoyed it..to say the least!

Here are a few pics for ya...

Yumm...look at that crushed peppermint...dipped the rim in the vodka and then the crushed peppermint...
Here are gifts I made for the girls...
Made 5x5 Canvas for them with an inspirational piece on it and also altered planners...
This is what the planners looked like before...usually you can find these in any $1 bin..got these at Micheals.

After being up till after 3:00am, making sure was everything was on track they better like it! And thats on my mama!

The finished planners...all 10 of them...
 Finished canvas...

2 of the 10 I made...

The piece reads:
"You.Are.Amazing."
As.you.are.
Stronger than you know,
More beautiful than you think.
Worthier than you believe,
More loved than you can ever imagine.
Passionate about making a difference.
Fiery when protecting those you love.
Learning. Growing. Not alone.
Warm.Giving.Generous.
Quirky.Sexy. Funny. Smart.
Flawed. Whole. Sacred. Brave.
And so, so, so, much more.

Be Strong. Be confident. Be You.

More Elf Shenanigans

Hey! Hey! Hey!

Well, Miracle is up to her antics again....today...Bre found her chillin with one of her baby dolls in her highchair, eating on some Apple Jacks and a candy cane! Not a very balanced meal there Miracle!

Bre thought it was super sweet that Miracle put her arm around her baby doll...lol..she was so excited...

Love the elf shenanigans...and I am glad she does too!

Someone Knows How to Work My iPhone...smh...

Someone knows how to work my iphone...she knows where her games are, she knows how to watch videos, takes videos and the same with photos...smh. What happen to viewmasters? And fisher price stuff?

She also had a photoshoot this past weekend when I wasn't looking...

Well...the apple don't fall too far from the tree....

Truly Yours!

Goodies at my Doorstep! Whoop! Whoop!

Only a scrapper knows the feeling of a priority box at your doorstep! Those who get monthly kits from the Scraproom probably smiled just as much as I did once I opened up my goodies! Am I the only one that gets my box all banged up looking like it played parts in the Rodney King Riot? I mean its always kinda beat up! But anyway, as long as my paper goods are not damaged I am SO GOOD! I really can't wait to play with my cool papers!

This month we have:
Crate Paper  - Sleigh Ride
Simple Stories - Handmade Holidays
My Minds Eye - All is Bright
Echo Park Paper - This-n-That Christmas

Don't slobber on your keyboard while you look at my goodies! Can't wait to play!

Oh, yes I do get extras...this is the embellishment kit...extra goodies...is always a good thing. This definitely keeps me out the stores!

More extras...I also signed up for the coordinating cardstock. It coordinates basically with all the papers that are sent.

Toodles!

{Sisterlocs...HERE I COME! }

Well I have contemplated and contemplated and I am finally going to do it! I finally made an appointment to get my sisterlocks. I am pretty excited but man, seriously a little on the nervous side. I heard it is definitely a process to get use to them...patience most importantly!

I am really getting tired of wearing a weave not to mention the money that I spend every other month getting it done. I am not ashamed of admitting to wearing a weave. Its my culture. If this is what I have chose to do for so long then that's my business! What I can say is stress is a hair killer as well as divorce and custody battles. Boo HOO! That is neither here or there, now its really time to get Tricia back on track!

I am feeling the concept of being natural and the feeling of just simply feeling free. Not having to add any additional hair to my own is cool with me! Being able to wash my hair whenever I want and really not have to do anything about it sounds extremely appealing to me! If I want to take aqua aerobics at the gym and not worry about my hair getting wet, I'm with it! Not having to be pissed that the beauty supply house does not have my color or style of hair I am looking for is appealing to me. Having to stop sweeping shedding curls of hair on the floor is appealing to me..lol. Seriously. If you ever go through a picture gallery of mine, you will see so many different hair styles, but we got it like that! African American women can be extremely versatile with what we do with our hair. Here are a few of my styles I would usually rock..

 Bre likes other hair too...LOL...

I have been hearing a major uproar of going natural. And I guess you can say I am joining the revolution and will be embracing my natural beauty! I am! I'm ready! Lets do it! Bring it! I am a little nervous as to what coworkers will expect...they already trip out when I come one day with shoulder length hair and then the next day with a short bob type haircut, then back to curly...they don't know..kinda confusing to them I know...don't trip...let me worry about my hair..lol, I GOT THIS!  So I already know they are not gonna be ready, but they can go ahead and get ready...I will be the first in my agency with them, so bring it. =)

MANY people are still asking what are SisterLocs...check the link here. They are real serious about it. You have to do a consultation, and installation and then of course maintenance (retightening sessions).
Here are a few pics of some sistas that I am sure who have been rocking them for years...

Aren't these locs beautiful?
At the consultation, because I have a weave in of course I wasn't taking it down JUST to do a a few twists / sample. At the consultation, a CERTIFIED technician will take a look at your hair, see what kind of pattern/grid will work best for your hair, how big or small, and to see how the test twists lock up. So while my hair is in a weave, of course...you have the "kitchen area"..that may grow out of the track...sistas...YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! I asked her if she could test it  in the kitchen, she said yeah, so I was like COOL! Here are my test locs below..

These photos were taken about 3 weeks ago...

Below, is the result...this photo taken a few days ago..

I saw one of my Sorors not too long ago who just took that plunge and she is very proud of hers, I have a cousin who has them and a few Sorority Sisters who do. All have encouraged me to research it and take the plunge if that's what I want to do. All have been very encouraging matter fact even my mama.

I asked her how do I prepare for this, I mean what do I do the night before if anything? She said wash it with a Suave type shampoo...one that will strip your hair and let it air dry...I said, "SAY WHUT!? AIR DRY??" Oh Lord...ouch. LOL! Okay then..

Well stay tuned on my journey yall! I'm so ready to get this started!

Yours Truly!

"Miracle" Wrecked Havoc....On Her Tree!!

So. Her name is "Miracle", the Elf on the Shelf!
Bre came home from her dads today and was introduced to the elf, and she named her "Miracle". Not sure where the name came from, but hey....we asked her to name her!
She is really excited about this elf and her magical powers that she will be reporting back and forth to Santa in the North Pole! Miracle is under strict guidelines to not speak to the children, but the children can speak to the elf's...Also, the children are to not touch the elf or else she will lose her magical powers!
Anyway, the elf is known to do mischievous things when kids go to bed...so tonight...as you can see below, "Miracle" wrecked havoc on the little girls Christmas Tree....OH BOY!!! Umm, yeah , that is what you think they are...26 pairs...LOL!!!!

Can't wait to see her reaction...hopefully I can catch some flicks!

Look at her...innocent little "Miracle"....lol...tee heee!!!
Happy Holidays!

{Alternative to Advent Calendar}

Ok...so I luv Pinterest, because otherwise, I wouldn't have known about alot of different things I have learned of recently or tried. I just LOVE being able to bring a smile to my baby girls face...so one of my dearest friends Alondra, told me about this alternative to a traditional advent calendar. I have been wanting to do an advent calendar for so long...so here we go.

What it is, is empty matchbook boxes...of course empty out the matches, save them if you wish...you can put little cute notes, activities that you and your child can partake in. So for instance, I put the following in her boxes, make a fort and eat dinner in it, make a Christmas card and mail it, have breakfast for dinner, open a small gift (from $1 store), I put a dollar in one and some change in another.

Normally, you would put numbers on the wrapped match boxes, but because of my lovely circumstances and not having Bre 7 days a week, I left the numbers off. So she will be be able to unwrap something each day as a count down.

We are exposing the elf for the first time tomorrow, as she comes home from her dads, can't wait..lol. Hopefully I catch some smiles and giggles for you on camera...

Have a great week!
