_______________________________

the SECRET.....
I promise myself

To be so strong, that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.

To make all my FRIENDS feel that there is something worthwhile in the.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.

To thin only of the best, to work only for the best.

and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of

other as I am about my own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on tot he

greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile

to every living creature I meet.

To give so much time to improving myself that I

have no time to criticize other

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,

and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the word,

not in loud words, but in great deeds.

To live in faith that the whole world is on my side,

so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

{Stay Encouraged}

My current situation...

Cheese Omelet & Turkey Bacon
Kirk Franklin Radio
Quiet
Peace
Rocking Chair (I use to rock Bre in)

Well I thought I would be able to get through this post before my little friend woke up...however seeing her walk towards me with a smile and greeting me with a hug is the best thing ever. She hopped in my lap and hugged me tight with her arms around my neck. And to think I sat in this very chair when she was still baking in my belly and also feeding her in this chair, burping her, and rocking her to sleep in this chair..aaahhh the memories.

Do you have a special place in your house where you like to sit and just take it in. I think it is this chair for me. It is positioned in a place where I can see every angle in my home....not that its humongous, but you get what I am saying! It would be a great place for a motion detector. I see the kitchen, dining room, living room, patio, and hallway...and an eye at the front door.

I look at my front door and I have thought of who I have let walk through that threshold. From now on, I will be making a better selection of who gets to come through my threshold. Some will be able to walk through that threshold, some may have the opportunity to talk to me from my porch, and some may need to just stay on the sidewalk. We (especially women) need to be aware of who we let in our personal space. Know how to deal with people, either up close or with a long handled wooden spoon! It's time to re-evaluate.

As I sit here I am forced to think about my life. I sit and think of my situation and how I got to where I am. I will be 36 in a couple of weeks and I have a story to tell as we all do. I have been blessed to know many different people who have impacted me in a positive way. People come in and out our lives for a reason. Either they are here genuinely, or they are here until they get what the need or to relieve some type of temporary help. I do not regret anyone I have come in contact with...there is a story and lesson behind everyone I come in contact with.

I have been blessed to have family that displays unconditional love. I have seen loved ones come and go...loved ones battling an illness or disease...some overcame and some not.

Sometimes I have these moments where I am overwhelmed with gratitude with blessings...and his mercy and favor...I question myself sometimes, "How did I get here" and "How do I continue to stay on my feet?". I have felt used many times in my life, because I am such a giving person. I want to believe these people are brought my way to teach me lessons. As I sit here in my favorite spot in my home, I am thankful for all that I have and thankful for things I am able to do. It could be so much worse.

A few months ago, I had to make a decision that would place me in an extreme financial bind from a poor decision I made. I faced my fears and told myself, its okay to struggle Tricia. I may not be able to do everything I want to do but I sure will try and I will compromise with myself along the way.

I appreciate all of my friends that I hold close to keep me uplifted when I may have my down days and when I may get overwhelmed. I am blessed to have a multitude of God Fearing friends in my life...the women in my life I am so  thankful for....and who will always keep it 100 with me. Know that you have a special meaning to me...God did not place you in my life for no reason. Over the years, I know I have lost contact with some and the connection isn't what it use to be, but is it because our focus is different? Our priorities? I have struggled with that for a while, but I am at peace with it...it is what it is. Some I am able to pick back up exactly where we left off and some not so easy. But its ok. Bottom line, I am thankful for who I do have. =)

I'm getting older and it is so important to sit back sometimes and just think with self. Ask yourself, "what is my next step?", "what does God want me to do next",  "what does he want to show me?" "where am I going?", "am I on track?", "what is healthy or not healthy in my life?", "what changes do I need to make?"

My friends, all I am saying is....whatever your circumstance...stay encouraged...this is for you below...
Love You...

Stay Up!

{Sparkle-Tude of the Day: 1/9/14}

Each quarter, my agency conducts meetings, with attempts to keep the line of communication open with all staff, share any news that may be going on, just business in general.  Also it is a time to get together as a whole as there are a handful of offices and we do not get to see each other or touch basis, so we have these meetings.  In 2011 we had a guest speaker by the name of Sheryl Roush and she was speaking about your attitude in the work environment....and how it can be infectious in a great way or in a poison type of way. Makes sense right? Whatever attitude you give off, others can sense it or feel it and definitely can see it.

She was also marketing her book called "Sparkle-Tudes" which is a self help / inspiration book that has gazillions of quotes , inspirations, insights for a sparkling attitude, energy boost, gives you the ability to have a calm reflection period and makes you bring on a new perspective of things, no matter how dim or dark things may be.

I share these quotes with my co-workers, close friends and I would like to share with you...hope you enjoy!

Quote for the day:

When stressed or going through a difficult time, it is essential that you take the time to relax in order to replenish your mind, body, and spirit. Nurture your well-being  by creating an oasis of calm in your life.  Getting calm allows you to get a fresh perspective and helps you cope better physically and emotionally with your troubles.  Being able to control at least one aspect of your life, in this case time to yourself, helps you get a grip on the rest of it .  For success, take the “t” out of “can’t”.

Also, take this bible verse and stick it somewhere where you can read it daily:

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me."
Philipians 4:13

Apply these words today!

Enjoy!

Happy Mommy's Day To All!

Happy Mother's Day to all the special women in my life, whether you are family or friend, Soror, coworker, near or far! I hope you were recognized for everything that you do and everything that you stand for! I want to tell you that I love you and HAPPY MOMMY's DAY!

I felt the need to pass on the following scriptures to you...(I will never know if you don't read it all,
but I hope you do!)
Proverbs 31:10-31 (Living Bible Version)...so you can understand clearly.. =)
10. If you can find a truly good wife, she is worth more than precious gems! 11. Her husband can trust her, and she will richly satisfy his needs. 12. She will not hinder him, but will help him all her life. 13. She finds wool and flax and busily spins it.  14. She buys imported foods, brought by ship from distant ports. 15. She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plans the day's work for her servant girls. 16. She goes out to inspect a field, and buys it; with her own hands she plants a vineyard. 17. She is energetic, a hard worker, 18. and watches for bargains. She works far into the night!
19.20. She sews for the poor, and generously gives to the needy. 21. She has no fear of winter for her household, for she has made warm clothes for all of them. 23. She also upholsters with finest tapestry; her own clothing is beautifully made - a purple gown of pure linen. 23. Her husband is well known, for he sits in the council chamber with the other civic leaders. 24. She makes belted linen garments to sell to the merchants. 25. She is a woman of strength and dignity, and has no fear of old age. 26. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says. 27. She watches carefully all that goes on throughout her household, and is never lazy. 28. Her children stand and bless her; so does her husband. He praises her with these words: 29. "there are many fine women in the world, but you are the best of them all!" 30. Charm can be deceptive and beauty doesn't last, but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised. 31. Praise her for the many fine things she does. These good deeds of hers shall bring her honor and recognition from even the leaders of the nations.

We may not all be wives...yet we could had been at one time, but above it all we are all women and have played a mothering role somewhere in your life and / or someone else's life!
With this said...I felt these words were extremely powerful to me! We may not possess all of these ideals above, but we are always striving to do our best and WILL ALWAYS be a work in

On another note, here are a few pics from the weekend for Mothers Day Celebration...
Below is my place mat at Bre's Mothers Day Tea at her school...was totally awesome, loved!

Me and my crazy girl...she can never take a normal pic! LOL!
Happy Mother's Day!!

Why I Left....But Now I'M BACK!

Part II....Why I vanished from my church home...

Well...I am trying to determine if I had a bunch of lame excuses or is it the truth.

Well when Paul Donaldson called me to ask if I would speak and basically give my testimony to the church as to why I came back to my church home, I frantically thought to myself and asked, what am I gonna say!?
It came to me early Sunday morning as to what I was going to deliver....just be real! Is basically what I was told by God...keep it 100% If I did not keep it 100% then whats the use of giving a testimony.

Okay, so let me set you up here.
Me and my ex-husband joined Life Changing Ministries in 2009. I had been going for awhile before he decided to start coming with me and then we later both decided it was time to become members. I was very excited that we would travel this journey together, so we did. We became members! When one finishes their "boot camp" New Members class, you are introduced to the congregation....and the entire congregation is invited up to welcome you and give you love!
So it was an awesome experience! The entire congregation was so warm and welcoming!
Pastor Woods and my ex had the same first name...so everyone remembered my ex-husbands name.

After separating I continued to attend, but with each attendance someone would ask me, "How is your husband!?", "Where is your husband!?", "Is your husband ok, we haven't seen him..."...so I kinda started getting I guess a little embarrassed, ashamed, feeling like I was somewhat on display, and everyone was watching me and my every move. So...my attendance became close to non-existent. Not only did I feel those things, but I would also get emotional when someone would ask...I mean I couldn't just start bawling my eyes out and pouring out my feelings to people I barely knew, so I had to keep it bottled in. It just became harder and harder. I think I would use the excuse that it was the distance that kept me from coming...but that was a pretty sorry excuse to say the least.

I began trying to find other churches close to my home...attended a few..and I just wasn't feeling it...either the congregation was TOO big (for me), or I just wasn't feelin the spirit move. So I had to do something.....had to make some moves..I was dating for a while and began to attend his church...LOVED the church but the distance was HUGE. Fontana to Moreno Valley, a good 45 minutes...compared to my Fontana to San Bernardino was nothing then! After some time had passed...I finally decided to just freakin go back HOME! Go back to my home church!

So I went back. It was hard at first, wondering what would my Pastor say...well when he saw me in the congregation..he made direct eye to eye contact...no doubt about it...he was looking at me and gave me the famous head nod that folks do when they say whats up, without actually saying it. I forget what the message was...but he was definitely speaking to me.

What do I love about my church? I LOVE the fact that its just the right size for me...I LOVE the fact that MY PASTOR knows my name and he will take his time to hold a conversation with me. He knows how to educate his congregation! My church is a Bible Teaching church...and he breaks it down to a sense where we all understand! My Pastor is down to earth! My church family is awesome! Everyone welcomed me back with open arms. We are really like family up in there.

So basically, I stopped goin simply because my church family cared...they cared enough to ask me how I was doin...I didn't see that 3 years ago...but I realize it today...because when I came back...better believe they were still asking! But...I bet you they won't ask no mo...that is if they were listening to me speak. =)

Okay...Robin...hope you enjoyed that one... =)

Part III will actually be on the message last Sunday...was so bomb...and it pertains to ALL of us!

Ciao for now!

You Want Me To Do What!?

All I can say is WOW! Today was an awesome day...

Today was my churches 28th Year Anniversary and we celebrated and had a few words from some members of the congregation (including me!), an awesome slide show and an awesome message!
It's late and I am trying to post this tonight as I feel someone may read this tonight and it may speak to them! This is the purpose why I share these types of things.

Allow me to rewind a sec, so I can set you in the right mood.

I went on a crazy strenuous hike yesterday, in which I am STILL sore from...and once I got home, I showered and pretty much straight crashed...there was nothing else to do!
So...I'm sleep for several hours like its nobodys business....all of the sudden, I get a phone call...like a THIEF IN THE NIGHT! lol...so I answer...its the Executive Director of Life Changing Ministries on the line...conversation went a little something like this...

Me: Hello?
Paul: Hi, Pat? (I only let a few people call me that, that I just cannot bring myself correct!)
Me: Yes, hi Paul
exchange of greetings...then he gets right to the point...I'm laying down while my baby girl has Tangled playing loud in the background...
Paul: Well, I wanted to call and ask you 2 questions..
Me: Sure!
Paul: 1st Question...are you coming to church tomorrow (This call was on Saturday)
Me: Yes!
Paul: Okay, cool. 2nd question...how do you feel about public speaking?
****I think my heart skipped a beat, I wasn't sure if I heard correctly, say whut!!? Oh Lawd, are they about to ask me to step out my comfort zone!?***
Me: Hold on one second, let me get to a quiet spot so I can hear you correctly...
Paul: Sure...
Me: Okay, I'm sorry...say what now?
Paul: We are putting together a program for tomorrow (Sunday) and Pastor wanted me to find a few people to speak very briefly. We were thinking of who and his first thought was to ask you. He wants to you to speak on why you chose to come back to your church home, and what you love about LCM.
****Oh Lawd...I still can't tell this man NO! So I had to put my big girl panties on and just DO IT!***...end of convo

Okay, so I'm basically messed up for the remainder of the day, because I have not spoke in front of a crowd this LARGE before! SO I am just in straight PANIC MODE! What am I gonna say!? Do I really tell the congregation why I stopped attending my church!? What in the heck am I gonna say, Oh Lord, help me get through this and help me choose what my words will be, may it be a testimony to someone else. So...by the time I go to bed, I still have no idea what exactly I am going to say! Man!

Alarm was set to go off at 6:30, something or someone woke me up...before my alarm went off...and basically told me to just BE REAL! Be REAL with it then it shouldn't be so hard. You won't be making up no crazy story or telling something that just wasn't true..I'm a horrible liar so that wouldn't be too good! So that's what I did...I was just real with it.

I was on the program at church, got introduced and everything and my heart was literally in my throat. 2 of my really close friends were there to support me and one of their sons. I got love from everyone in the congregation...even Pastor.

This post is turning out to be longer than I thought...to keep you interested, I'm going to break this up into 3 parts. Part I is what you just read, Part II will explain my vanishing from my church home, and Part III I will share with you what this AWESOME message was...and I KNOW alot of yall could benefit from it.

I'm tired...had a long day...enjoyed Disney on Ice with my daughter, mom and some friends and Bre's friends...and I have my first full week of work in a while...lol...so I really need to bounce off this laptop and shut her down!

Till tomorrow with Part II!

Deuces!

Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Year Peeps! I usually do a recap of my year in pics, but I failed to keep my pics organized! Anywho...I am posting on a few things I have done while off work for a mini vacation, bringing 2012 to a close and open new doors to a new year!

I ran across this prayer that I simply loved...and wanted to share with you. This prayer is awesome...if you need to print it out and read it daily until you memorize it...then do so. Post it at work, near your monitor, in your locker, in your purse, in your glove compartment...anywhere where its in close reach..I aim to be a better prayer warrior this year...

Well on to some fun stuff...I did some 1st bringing in the New Year...it wasn't as bad as I thought...being that my baby girl was gone for 9 days come tomorrow. However, she will be back! She's been gone since Christmas and I can't wait to see her play with all of her new goods she got from Santa! *wink wink*
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my friends for trying to keep me busy and keep my mind occupied while Bre was gone. My sista from another mista declared that we were going Ice Skating at the Mission Inn in Riverside on New Years...ok! Sure why not! So her BFF came and I invited my sister Kiesha and my nephew Jalen to come along. We really had a blast...NO ONE fell..no one! I was scuuurd though, I am not even gonna lie! I might have spent most the time in the rail...but its all good! Here are a few photos that captured my day..

Me & Keisha...
Me tryna pose on the ice, simultaneously trying to hold my balance! LOL!

Me and my sista from anotha mista...Miss Alondra Ladison...havin a great time!

Me and my nephew Jalen...he was all smiles!
IT's ONLY A POSE...lol..I promise I was not fallin for real...I said no one fell...trust me...!
Okay...now back tracking a bit...my sister usually asks us what we want for Christmas and I really couldn't figure out what I wanted and then it came to me! Go ahead and get me that Hip Hop Dance Experience! So I decided to play it today...played that thing solo for about 1 1/2 hours...got down with Snoop, Ciara, Chris Brown, Drake, Lil Wayne, Amerie, and so many more...it was fun but I bet funner with more people! So yeah I have had a nice work out today! Thanks SIS!
Okay...another 1st I accomplished...was going to the movies on Christmas Day. Since Bre left, my friends were quick to get me out of the house...so we went to see DJango Unchained. I liked the movie...there has been many different opinions. I am not too much Tarentino, I know he has crazy movies, but hey...I enjoyed it...it was hard to watch of course, and also this movie has no true representation of what slavery was truly like. I am thankful for the funny parts in the movie...cuz man oh man, otherwise I am not sure I would have lasted the entire 3 hours of the movie!

A message to my crafty friends & blogger friends...my online scrapbook group has been hopping the past 2 days. I challenged the group...to "Get that old thang back!!" In 2012 it seemed that we lost our mojo in getting crafty. Even some of my blogger friends kinda fell off! I miss yall, come back! Lets enjoy what we use to! There's a reason why we use to do what we did...why not continue what made us happy! Lets roll and do this! Lets get that old thang back!

Last but not least...the last 1st I did was I brought in the New Year in church. It was cool glad I went. There was fellowshipping, playing games, and finally ended with the message. I will be working on the message daily. Basically Pastor Woods, was speaking about letting the past be the past! Move forward! Can you imagine if God did not let the past be the past? What would that do for us??
So my message to you...LEAVE 2012 in the past...even 2003, 1999, the past is the past! LET IT GO! Lets move forward!

Holla!!!
Happy New Years!

Inspiration Sunday {At The Start of the Day}

Its important to know why we woke up this morning...don't forget to give praise and thanks to him.
HE deserves more than a bedtime prayer...don't give him only your left over prayers....start your prayers in the beginning of your day. If you are in need of a daily prayer to to jump start your day....here ya go!

Heavenly Father, thank you for the night's rest you gave me. I am grateful for the renewed energy and enthusiasm it has brought.  Accept my gratitude for bringing me to the beginning of this new day.  I accept it as a gift from you. May I use it minute by minute to do your will.  Guide me in every problem I face, every decision I make this day.  Help me to treat everyone kindly, fairly and thoughtfully.  If I should forget you during this day, please do not forget me.
Amen.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

The Love Dare...

**Borrowed from someone very special to me, here is an excerpt from this book I can't wait to read. Those who are married may find this book helpful. Have you watched the movie Fireproof? Wonderful movie, which is featured in the storyline of Fireproof. Check both out if you can should be beneficial. Just reading this excerpt alone gave me an unwanted reality check.**

Love is Unconditional
God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ dies for us. – Romans 5:8

If someone were to ask you, “Why do you love your wife?” or “Why do you love your husband?” – what would you say?

Most men would mention their wife’s beauty, her sense of humor, her kindness, her inner strength. They might talk about her cooking, her knack for decorating, or what a good mother she is.

Women would probably say something about their husband’s good looks or his personality. They’d commend him for his steadiness and consistent character. They’d say they love him because he’s always there for them. He’s generous. He’s helpful.

But what if over the course of years, your wife or husband stopped being every one of those things. Would you still love them? Based on your answers above, the only logical response would be “no.” If your reasons for loving your spouse all have something to do with his or her qualities – and then those same qualities suddenly or gradually disappear – your basis for love is over.

The only way love can last a lifetime is if it’s unconditional. The truth is this: love is not determined by the one being loved but rather by the one choosing to love.

The Bible refers to this kind of love by using the Greek word agape (pronounced uh-GOP-ay).

It differs from the other types of love, which are – phileo (friendship) and eros (sexual love). Both friendship and sex have an important place in marriage, of course, and are definitely part of the house you build together as husband and wife. But if your marriage totally depends on having common interests or enjoying a healthy sex life, then the foundation of your relationship is unstable.

Phileo and eros are more responsive in nature and can fluctuate based upon feelings. Agape love, on the other hand, is selfless and unconditional. So unless this kind of love forms the foundation of your marriage, the wear and tear of time will destroy it. Agape love is in “sickness and health” love, “for richer or poorer” love, “for better or worse” love. It is the only kind of love that is true love.

That’s because this is God’s kind of love. He doesn’t love use because we are lovable but because He is so loving. The Bible says, “In this love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). If He insisted that we prove ourselves worthy of His love, we would fail miserably. But God’s love is a choice He makes completely on His own. It’s something we receive from Him and then share with others. “We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

If a man says to his wife, “I have fallen out of love with you,” he is actually saying, “I never loved you unconditionally to begin with.” His love was based on feelings or circumstances rather than commitment. That’s the result of building a marriage on phileo or eros love. There must be a stronger foundation than mere friendship or sexual attraction. Unconditional love, agape love, will not be swayed by time or circumstance.

That’s not to say, though, that love which began for the wrong reasons cannot be restored and redeemed. In fact, when you rebuild your marriage with agape as its foundation, then the friendship and romantic aspects of your love become more endearing than ever before. When your enjoyment of each other as best friends and lovers is based on unwavering commitment, you will experience an intimacy that cannot be achieved any other way.

But you will struggle and fail to attain this kind of marriage unless you allow God to begin growing His love within you. Love that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7) does not come from within. It can only come from God.

The Scriptures say that “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). This is God’s kind of love. And thankfully – by your choice – it can become your kind of love. But first you must receive it and share it.

And don’t be surprised, when your spouse begins living confidently under its shade, if he or she doesn’t become even more lovable to you than you remember. You will no longer say, “I love you because …” You will now say, “I love you, period.”

My Testimony...

Okay, so some of you may know that I was looking around for a church that was closer to home. Tried a few and I really wasn't feelin the ones I tried. Everyone looks for something different, looks for that comfort and warm feeling when you make a church, a home.
Well with no luck, this past Sunday, I went back to my home church. I know FOR SURE, I will get the word and everything else I am looking for right there at Life Changing Ministries. So...I went..and already knew Pastor was going to give me that look...yeah you know that look!

So, I walked in the sanctuary, and Pastor Woods made direct eye contact with me and gave me that look and the head nod, like.."Yeah I see you, glad to see you though" look. So I nod back, like, "Glad to see you too Pastor!" =) Which I was, I just felt at home.

Praise and Worship...of the chain! (as usual). Usually after Praise and Worship he asks us to welcome our neighbors and show some love. So..at this time I when I decided to go show my Pastor some love...he gave love right back. True my Pastor hasn't seen me in a while, but he greeted me as if he just saw me yesterday, and asked, "How you doin Pat" (person #3 I will allow to call me Pat)...I replied, "I'm healing....I'm healing, thank you", so he smiled gave me that look like, "You are in the right place!" So...I find my way back to seat...

The congregation is introduced to this Pastor from Ghana...BOMB! Wow! Guess what the message was about....HEALING!!!! HELLO!? Instant chills...I swear my skin looked like an orange peel the ENTIRE service! So he speaks about healing!

He reminded us that, "By his stripes we are healed!" Which is so true...
No matter what type of wounds or bruises we have, whether they are emotional, spiritual, physical, economical, financial....you can be healed!"

If you claim....you can inherit my friends, all you gotta have is your faith in the right spot! I can testify to this as I am sure many of us can!

So he asked us..."WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?"
Compare your bruises to his bruises! Let go of any issues you may be holding onto from your past, HE was bruised far more than us...think about it! Transfer your emotional wounds to him and let him rescue you and repair!

If you cannot solve your own problems....TURN IT OVER TO HIM!!!

A few of the versus that were discussed...loved them

Isaiah 53:5
"But HE was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was chastised that we might have peace; he was lashed - and we were healed!"

Luke 11:24-25
24 - When a demon is cast out of a man, it goes to the deserts, searching there for the rest; but finding none , it returns to the person it left."

25 - and finds that its former home is all swept and clean"

Mark 9:14-29
14 - At the bottom of the mountain they found a great crowd surrounding the other nine disciples, as some Jewish leaders argued with them
15 - The crowd watched Jesus in awe as he came toward them, and then ran to greet him
16 - Whats all the argument about? he asked.
17 - One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, "Teacher I brought my son for you to heal as he can't talk because he is possessed by a demon.
18 - And whenever the demon is in control of him it dashed him to the ground and makes him foam at the mouth and he bites his teeth and becomes rigid. So I begged your disciples to cast out the demon, but they couldn't do it."
19 - Jesus said [to his disciples], "Oh what tiny Faith you have, how much longer must I be with you until you believe? How much longer must I be patient with you? Bring the bout to me."
20 - So they brought the boy, but when he saw Jesus the demon convulsed the child horribly , and fell to the ground foaming at the mouth.
21 - "How long has he been this way?" Jesus asked the father. And he replies, "Since he was very small
22 - and the demon often makes him fall into the fire or into the water to kill him.
Oh have mercy on us and do something if you can."
23 - "If I can?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if you have faith."
24 - The father instantly replied, "I do have faith: oh, help me to have more!"
25 - When Jesus saw the crowd was growing, he rebuked the demon. "Oh demon of the deafness and dumbness," he said, "I command you to come out of this child and enter him no more!"
26 - Then the demon screamed terribly and convulsed the boy again and left him and they boy lay there limp and motionless, to all appearance dead. A murmur ran through the crowd - "He is dead."
27 - But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet and he stood up and was all right!
28 - Afterwards, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, "Why couldn't we have cast that demon out?"
29 - Jesus replied, "Cases like this require prayer"
