His wife has left him and his church is in ruins. What’s next for Bishop Eddie Long? Last week, it was revealed that Long agreed to pay four young men $ 25 million for sexual misconduct. He also gave them a private apology. The first offer was for $12 million and a public apology, but Long refused. The Bishop needs money, and many feel his megachurch in Atlanta may fold by the end of the year. His long suffering wife Vanessa has reportedly moved out with one of their children. The scandal proved to be too much to bear.
Is Jennifer Hudson being honest about her weight loss? Hudson had to be rushed to the hospital with stomach issues following an appearance on Good Morning America. It was first reported she suffered food poisoning, but then it was reported she was having complications from a lapband surgery performed two years ago. Hudson looks great with her 80 pound weight loss. She just signed a million dollar deal to write a book talking about losing weight and maintaining her size, but did she get a little help? She has been a major spokesperson for Weight Watchers, and if this is true, it would hurt her credibility. Spokespeople for Hudson have been quiet. Hudson has also signed on for the new Three Stooges movie.
What was he thinking? This is the question many are asking Tracy Morgan since the popular actor/comedian went on a homophobic rant at a comedy show in Nashville. Audience members were appalled at his performance where he denounced gays, and then he said he would stab his son if his son said he was gay. Morgan has since apologized, but he clearly forgot who his audience really is.
Katt Williams is in trouble again. This time he got arrested for throwing rocks at a tractor trailer truck driver. Williams needs help because he continues to ruin his career.
Get well wishes to E Street Band Member Clarence Clemons. The most famous saxophone player in the world has suffered a stroke. For years he played with Bruce Springsteen. The big man teamed up with Springsteen in 1971, and was prominently featured on the hits Thunder Road and Born To Run. In the 80’s, he teamed up with Aretha Franklin on her classic Freeway Of Love. Clemons is 69-years old.
Shaquille O’Neal recently retired from the NBA. He is about to become a part of the Good Morning America team, but first he has to deal with a criminal case. Seven gang members allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and robbed a man who claimed he had a sex tape of Shaq and other women made while Shaq was married to Shaunie O’Neal. The man, Robert Ross, also claimed to have had an affair with Shaunie himself. Shaq is friends with the gang members. Did he have anything to do with this?
Former Talk Show Host Montel Williams has opened a weed pharmacy in Sacramento, California. Williams is a longtime supporter of medical marijuana, which is legal in California. Williams suffers from MS.
Is Jennifer Lopez thinking of leaving American Idol? In a recent interview, Lopez says she is undecided about returning to the show. She was a big hit last season with Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. I doubt if she will leave. American Idol has been the best thing to happen to her in years.

Sly Stone has pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine. The 68-year old former lead singer of Sly & The Family Stone was arrested earlier this year for cocaine possession. Stone has been known for freebasing cocaine. He was recently released from the hospital last week suffering from heart issues.

After 14 years, Singer Faith Evans and her husband Todd Russaw are calling it quits. In court papers, they listed their separation year as 2005, but they had a child together in 2007. The couple is saying their split was a mutual decision. Evans is in talks to do a reality show with KeKe Wyatt, Kelly Price and Angie Stone.
Motown Founder Berry Gordy says it’s time to set the record straight. He is putting together a Motown musical said to be costing $100 million. The music will detail his life and how he stared the famed label. Will he tell the truth? Will he talk about the love affair and secret love child with Diana Ross or his famous feuds with Motown stars including his ex-brother in law Marvin Gaye?
Speaking of Gordy’s family, his ex-son in law Jermaine Jackson is no longer a deadbeat dad. Jermaine has paid his ex, Alejandra Jackson, $80,000 in back support for their two children. Alejandra also had two kids with Jermaine’s brother Randy. Jermaine now gets his passport and driver’s license back. Jermaine held out for a long time. He had the money because he has a rich Arabian girlfriend. But, he was so spiteful to Alejandra, he made her wait and suffer for the money.

Snipes won’t be released from prison until 2013 as he serves time for tax evasion. Snipes is currently trying to secure future movie deals so that his family will have money.
Shemar Moore has just signed a contract extension to continue on the CBS show Criminal Minds. He’s also getting more money. Moore got his start playing “Malcolm” on The Young And The Restless.
Brandy, Tatyana Ali and Tempest Bledsoe will be taking off their clothes for a good cause. The three former child stars are spreading the word about skin cancer and the need for sunscreen in a new ad campaign. Journalist Don Lemon has revealed he is gay. The 45-year old CNN anchor has a new book out called Transparent. Lemon, who used to work locally at NBC-10, already revealed he was molested as a child by a neighbor. He talked about that during his coverage of the Bishop Eddie Long scandal. Lemon says he was never on the downlow since his friends and colleagues already knew. He also says he isn’t gay as a result of sexual abuse but that he was born that way. Lemon’s book, Transparent, is in stores now.
Sugar Ray Leonard reveals sexual abuse in his past as well. The 55-year old boxing legend and Dancing With The Stars contestant has a new autobiography out called The Big Fight: My Life In And Out Of The Ring. Leonard reveals his troubled childhood, alcohol and cocaine habits, becoming a teenage father, martial infidelities and being sexually assaulted by a prominent Olympic boxing coach when he was a teen. Leonard says former Child Actor Todd Bridges’ appearance on Oprah inspired him to reveal the abuse.
Aaron McCargo, Jr. is on a roll. The Camden, NJ native and season 4 winner of The Next Food Network Star is adding the title of author to his resume. McCargo has finished his first cookbook called Simply Done, Well Done. The book is in stores now. McCargo’s Food Network show Big Daddy’s House airs Fridays at 9:30am and Saturdays at 9am.

Journalist Don Lemon has revealed he is gay. The 45-year old CNN anchor has a new book out called Transparent. Lemon, who used to work locally at NBC-10, already revealed he was molested as a child by a neighbor. He talked about that during his coverage of the Bishop Eddie Long scandal. Lemon says he was never on the downlow since his friends and colleagues already knew. He also says he isn’t gay as a result of sexual abuse but that he was born that way. Lemon’s book, Transparent, is in stores now.
Sugar Ray Leonard reveals sexual abuse in his past as well. The 55-year old boxing legend and Dancing With The Stars contestant has a new autobiography out called The Big Fight: My Life In And Out Of The Ring. Leonard reveals his troubled childhood, alcohol and cocaine habits, becoming a teenage father, martial infidelities and being sexually assaulted by a prominent Olympic boxing coach when he was a teen. Leonard says former Child Actor Todd Bridges’ appearance on Oprah inspired him to reveal the abuse.

The fight continues for the James Brown estate, worth $100 million. A lawyer for the estate is claiming Brown’s family is hijacking it. The lawyer claims the money was supposed to go Brown’s grandchildren and to a trust for needy children. The estate is generating money from royalties from his music and marketing. The Godfather Of Soul left behind six known and legal children. He died Christmas Day 2006 from heart failure at the age of 73.
Rapper/Reality Star Flavor Flav is running into problems with his fried chicken restaurant. The restaurant is in Ohio and workers have been complaining about not getting paid. Their checks have been bouncing.
The Oprah Winfrey Show finale is going to be huge. Oprah will say goodbye after 25 years with a huge Hollywood sendoff. May 23rd and 24th will feature Jerry Seinfeld, Hugh Jackman, Tyler Perry, Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle, Beyonce, Jamie Foxx and Usher, just to name a few.

Will Smith and his son Jaden will be teaming up for the new M. Night Shyamalan movie. The movie is a sci-fi thriller set 1,000 years in the future. The movie is about a boy, played by Jaden, finding his way around an abandoned planet after his spaceship crashes. Will plays his dad. Jaden had a big hit last year with The Karate Kid, and in 2006, he made his movie debut with his dad in the 2006 movie The Pursuit of Happyness.
Jermaine Jackson feels no one understands his financial woes. A judge has ordered Jermaine to pay his ex-wife Alejandra $100,000 in back child support. Jackson says he doesn’t have the money, and his ex, who has been mooching off of the Jackson family for over 18 years, doesn’t deserve any money, Alejandra Jackson has two children by Jermaine’s brother Randy and two by Jermaine.

Comedian Sinbad is also getting a reality show. Sinbad’s Family Affair debuts April 12th on the WE network. The show will follow Toni Braxton’s reality show called Braxton’s Family Values. Sinbad’s show will show him rebuilding his career and dealing with his family.

Little Miss Bre
Time flys when we are having fun! Well maybe not necessarily fun all the time, but time does fly!
Here is a little somethin somethin we were doin last Sunday! My little friend, took home 2 trophies at her very first beauty pageant!
And before anyone ask I am not becoming a Pageant mom..lol...at least a crazy one anyway!

Life
Man, I know it has been a minute since my last posting. Just when I think I am going to be good about posting I begin to slip up! My bad...for those that follow me.
Life just happens. I can't use the excuse of bein a single mommy all the time...cause that's actually the story of my life. Some have told me I need to slow down and I am doin too much. Well I think I have always lead a fast pace life, slowed down a little, but picked back up even more so after the separation mainly due to NOT wanting to be in the house and then sink into a woe is me type attitude. That happened in the beginning and that feeling is NOT the business!
So if ya know me, I am always doin somethin.
I have recently recognized that I say yes to people and events before checking my calendar for pre-existing commitments. Whoops...everything just sounds so good but I need to understand I just can't do everything. And before anything and anybody my priorities come first! Hello..lol.
I have a few things goin on right now...
- Tryna continue to get use to my new job duties and description
- Finalize my divorce
- Get my azz in shape, which includes somehow began eating healthier, and definitely workin out.
- Getting my passport together
- Looking forward to my 7 day cruise to the Caribbean in June
- Planned a Girls Weekend Getaway to Ensenada, Mexico
- Planning on attending 2 more scrapbook retreats
- Looking forward to participating in this book club I just joined
- Ima stop here...lol

4-1-1- Entertainment for the Week off Feb 7th
Mary Harvey has been ordered to shut up! A Texas judge recently ruled that Mary Harvey can no longer talk about her ex-husband Steve Harvey. No more you tube videos, Facebooking, tweeting or MySpace about her ex. The court hearing also proved that Mary wasn’t left destitute and homeless by her ex-husband. In fact, records proved she was getting $40,000 a month, got three houses in a divorce settlement and she voluntarily put her son on a plane sending him to be with his dad. The Harveys are due back in court March 10th. Mary Harvey created a firestorm when she went public with allegations of mistreatment by Steve Harvey. Steve always said the truth will prevail, but a lot of damage has already been done. Why would Mary Harvey go to these great lengths only to be embarrassed in the end because she was lying? Mary Harvey fell into the trap of getting used by other people who had an axe to grind against Steve Harvey. Steve Harvey has been on a roll with his best selling books, TV shows (Family Feud and Steve Harvey Project) and he is happily married to his current wife Marjorie. Check him out on the new issue of Jet magazine. Mary Harvey is going to have to move on with her life and stay away from people who only want to use her for their own agenda.
Halle Berry is on the latest issue of Ebony magazine. The Oscar winner is in a nasty custody battle with her baby daddy Model Gabriel Aubry. The past week has been quiet between the two, but the charges of racial slurs and jealous fights have been ugly. Berry has put her career on hold to fight for custody of her daughter Nahla. Aubry’s friends say he is being unfairly maligned by a very powerful woman who couldn’t handle the fact that he was ready to move on with his life without her. Berry’s track record has not been good, and she always played the victim in her relationships. Her past marriages include Baseball Player David Justice and Singer Eric Benet. She has also dated Singer Christopher Williams and Actors Shemar Moore and Wesley Snipes. Aubry briefly dated Reality Star Kim Kardashian. Sources say this made Berry crazy, and ever since then she has vowed to make his life miserable. Berry is going to have to be careful. These ugly headlines are not good for her career or her image.
Janet Jackson’s new book, True You, a journey to finding and loving yourself arrives in bookstores on the 15th. The book is part self help-part autobiography, and it’s very revealing. In the book, Jackson talks about her body issues. She says she didn’t feel attractive and that she would bang her head against the wall. She recalls how her brothers would tease her calling her names like horse, pig and cow. She also opened up about her relationship with her father. She says growing up the Jackson children could not call their father Joe Jackson “dad.” They had to address him as “Joe.” She says he had a different way of showing love.
Actress Tisha Campbell is battling stage 2 sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is an inflammation of the organs which affects the skin, lungs and lymph nodes. Comedian/Actor Bernie Mac died of the disease in 2008.
Actor Kristoff St. John has no comment on his recent drunk driving arrest. St. John is best known for his role as “Neil Winters” on the soap opera The Young And The Restless. St. John was stopped for speeding on the highway in Los Angeles and had to take a breathalyzer. His alcohol amount was over the limit. He has been released on bail.
John Legend is teaming up with Sade as she embarks on her U.S. tour. They will be in Philly Fathers’ Day Sunday, June 19th at The Wells Fargo Center.
Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff are being honored once again in Philadelphia. The Chamber Orchestra Of Philadelphia will give the songwriting producing duo the 2011Lifetime Achievement Award. It all takes place Saturday, May 21st at The Westin Philadelphia, 17th and Chestnut Streets. The honor is part of a two-year celebration for the songwriters/producers who’ve worked with The O’Jays, Lou Rawls, The Jacksons, Jerry Butler, Patti LaBelle, Teddy Pendergrass, The Jones Girls, The Three Degrees, Billy Paul, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes and Phyllis Hyman. This year marks the 40th anniversary of their famed Philly International label, and 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Gamble & Huff songwriting partnership, which includes the songs Me & Mrs. Jones, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine and Love Train.
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards air on this Sunday, February 13th 8pm on CBS. Some of the highlights include performances by Barbara Streisand and Mick Jagger, who has never performed at the Grammys before. Jagger is doing a tribute to the late Solomon Burke. There will also be a tribute to The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin. She has been awarded 20 Grammys. Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams and Christina Aguilera will be performing in a tribute dedicated to Franklin. Aguilera has a lot riding on this performance since her now famous flub of the National Anthem at this year’s Superbowl.
Simon Cowell is promoting his new talent show The X-Factor. His show debuts in the fall, but he is already talking it up. Is Cowell feeling the heat because Steven Tyler is doing so well on American Idol? Cowell says no. He is just doing his job gearing up for his new show. Cowell says the winner will get a $5 million record deal, and he has also hinted that Paula Abdul may be joining him on the show.
Actress Kerry Washington is coming to TV in a new Shonda Rhimes produced show. The pilot for the show, In Pilot, also features Stomp The Yard Actor Columbus Short.
Fantasia has signed to play Gospel Great Mahalia Jackson in a new movie. The movie will be based on the book Go Tell It. The biopic will focus on Jackson’s role as The Queen Of Gospel and her involvement in the civil rights movement. Jackson died in 1972 at the age of 60 from heart disease and diabetes.
It’s a new honor for Stevie Wonder. He’s getting inducted into the Apollo Theatre Hall Of Fame on June 13th. Past honorees include Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin.
After one year of marriage Terrence Howard’s latest wife wants out, and she wants some money. Michelle Ghent-Howard and Terrence Howard are citing irreconcilable differences. The two appeared to be very much in love a few weeks ago, but Michelle has decided she has had enough. She is looking for Howard to pay her legal fees and give her spousal support.
Uncle Luke wants to be the mayor of Miami. Luther Campbell is a former member of 2 Live Crew. He says as a longtime resident of the area he knows what is best for the city.

Actor Laurence Fishburne is coming to HBO in the story of Thurgood Marshall. Marshall was a civil rights lawyer and first African American supreme court justice. The movie on his life, based on the Broadway play Fishburne starred in, will air during Black History Month on February 24th.
Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker debuts his Criminal Minds TV spinoff, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior on February 16th.
Diana Ross’ son, Evan Ross, is leading an all-star cast in the movie Mooz-lum. The movie, by Writer/Director Qasim Basir, tells the story of a young man’s struggling to come to terms with his Islamic faith on an American college campus. Evan Ross stars as “Tariq Mahdi.” The cast also features Danny Glover, Nia Long and Roger Guenveur Smith. Mooz-lum opens in theatres this month.
WDAS’ Afternoon Drive Host Michael Baisden has a new documentary called Do Women Know Want They Want. The documentary explores the topics of sex, monogamy, cheating, marriage, interracial relationships, girlfriends and even open relationships to ask women what they really want and do they even know? The DVD hits shelves on Valentine’s Day.

The only time he ever appeared in a movie that wasn’t his was Star Trek. Morgan Freeman previously played the “Alex Cross” character in the movies Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider.

In addition to a third season for The Wendy Williams Show, The Queen Of All Media is going to be hosting a show on the Game Show Network. Williams is the new host of Love Triangle. It’s a mixture of a game show and a talk show. It debuts on April 18th.

Tyler Perry’s latest Madea movie, Madea’s Big Happy Family, arrives in theatres April 22nd. The movie stars Bow Wow and Loretta Devine.
It’s another gig for Sherri Shepherd of The View. In addition to co-hosting the daytime talker on ABC, Shepherd has a recurring role on the NBC show 30 Rock. She is currently filming a pilot for a new TV series on the TV Land network. Shepherd is also the new host of The Newlywed Game, and she’s getting married this summer to TV Writer Lamar Sally.

Congrats to Actress Tia Mowry. She’s pregnant. Mowry is married to Cory Hardrict, and she is due this summer. Mowry starred in the popular show Sister Sister with her twin Tamera Mowry. Tia is now one of the stars of The Game on BET, where she plays “Melanie.” Tia is also doing a reality show with her sister on the Style network called Take 2.
The 42nd annual NAACP Image Awards will air March 4th on FOX. Tyler Perry is leading in the nominations with his movies For Colored Girls and Why Did I Get Married Too? He also has nominations for his TV shows House Of Payne and Meet The Browns. Other movies nominated include Book Of Eli and Just Wright. Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Jaden Smith, Halle Berry and Queen Latifah are all nominated for awards. Ice Cube’s TV show Are We There Yet? is also nominated in the TV category.

WhoGivesaScrap Winter Retreat
Okay so 12 of us fun girls got together for our annual retreat. We usually do this once a year and we have such a good time! This was our 2nd time at The Scrap Retreat House in Winchester.
In attendance we had, Janice, Audrey, Wendy, Cynthia, Robin, Billie, Charlie, Marjorie, Marie and Melissa. Love these girls, cause I had a real good time!
This was the first time that I was completely unprepared for this retreat. Life has just been a whirlwind! I think I was just really looking forward to the time away!
This was also the 1st retreat where I was not too productive, but I still got some stuff done.
We had a BUNCH of snacks, food, drinks, alot of girl time, girl talk, laughing.....oooh the best part was my 60 minute massage I got on Saturday. The poor masseuse did maybe 7-8 of us I know she was ready to go home! Before she left we had her snag our pic though...see below!
Yes....that is me...and that is our mascot mask. There is a story behind it but to make it real short..lol...our Yahoo Group, WhoGivesaScrap. One of our members just shortened it all together and alot of come to just call us WhoGAS as they are the acronyms...lol...I know I know. So Miss Wendy, came across a GAS MASK! And it seems to appear at every crop recently...lol.

Miss Robin graciously did a make and take for us, the layout was pretty cool. I learned a few techniques, will post later with other items I completed. Thanks Robin! Visit her blog, she does pretty cool stuff!

Ok....brace yourself.....We usually do some type of RAK or group project that we all take part in. Well some girls just didn't have the guts to do it....however.....ladies if you take a REAL close look at the photos below, you can kinda get the idea as to what was goin down and what we had to ALTER! LOL!
Enjoy the photos! I MUST admit, I wasn't too excited about working in this project cause it just didn't feel right! BUT, the end result was great! We all shared some pretty heart wrenching laughs...lol! We had an OVERACHIEVER in the group...as she made wrist cuffs and earrings to match...I won't even get in to what they were made out of! LOL!

We have a tradition to do the Cupid Shuffle dance at every retreat. We did it a few times, but we thought it would be fun to do it in our "slippers." Unfortunately, we were sliding all over the floor...with the exception of Marie..BECAUSE she took the backing off the bottom of her "SLIPPERS" LOL!!!
