Their comeback hit, A Heart Is A House For Love, was featured in Robert Townsend's film The Five Heartbeats, which was based loosely on The Dells. Whats the 4-1-1!? 5/27/13

Why is Mary J. Blige having money problems? This was not a good week for The Queen Of Hip Hop Soul, who was hit with a $3.4 million tax lien from the IRS. This is on top of the $900,000 she owes the state of New Jersey. Blige tours all the time, so why is she having financial problems? Blige could wind up in jail if she doesn’t solve her tax issues. Lauryn Hill is on her way to jail. She has to turn herself in this summer and joins Wesley Snipes, Reality Star Richard Hatch from Survivor, and Ronald Isley on the list of celebrities who wind in jail for failing to pay taxes. C’mon Mary! We love you, so get it together!

Speaking of celebrities and their money, Actor/Comedian Sinbad has filed for bankruptcy again. He is $10 million in debt. He owes the I.R.S. Over $8 million from 1998-2006. Sinbad says he only makes $16,000 a month, and he can’t afford to pay his bills. Sinbad also owes thousand of dollars in credit card debt.

Another broke celebrity is Celebrity Apprentice Star Claudia Jordan. The Deal Or No Deal model filed for bankruptcy due to being a million dollars in debt. There were rumors she was dating Fly Jock Tom Joyner. If she wasn’t before, she may want to think about it now. He’s got the money and he’s single.

More mudslinging in the Michael Jackson wrongful death suit. Mom Katherine Jackson is suing concert promoter AEG on behalf of her late son's estate. She filed against AEG Live for negligent hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is currently serving 4 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. The trial is to established how much responsibility AEG must take for Jackson's death. Look for AEG to bring up a lot of negatives against Michael Jackson including that he hired Murray, drug and alcohol abuse and whether or not Jackson is the biological parent of Prince and Michael. As the plantiff and guardian of Michael's three children, Katherine Jackson was deposed for nine hours over a three-day period. That's because every point is going to be used by both side. There was even a controversy as lawyers for AEG gave candy to the jurors. After objections from Jackson's lawyers, the compromise is that both sides can now give candy to the jurors.  This will be a long trial.

Meanwhile, Choreographer Wade Robson says that as a minor, he was molested by The King Of Pop. Robson, 30, is suing the Michael Jackson estate for damages. Lawyers for the Jackson estate call Robson's claim outrageous and pathetic. Now, Jackson nephew Taj, one of Tito's sons, says Robson is definitely lying. Taj says he was molested as a child by an uncle on his mother's side of the family, and that Michael Jackson was part of his support system. Taj says as a survivor of molestation he can tell Robson is not being truthful.

Gabrielle Union returns to the small screen on the BET drama series Being Mary Jane debuting Tuesday, July 2nd. Union plays a TV talk show host navigating her way through career and single life. The show was created by Mara Brock Akil creator of Girlfriends and The Game. Speaking of The Game, new episodes also premiere Tuesday July 2nd.

TV shake ups:

That's the same reason for the major changes are coming to American Idol. The past season despite good talent, Idol had disappointing ratings. Now, a new panel of judges is being sought. With regard to the probation, Johnson was jailed briefly before  posting bail and being released. In his court appearance, he said he had no money to pay his child support.

Happy Mommy's Day To All!

Happy Mother's Day to all the special women in my life, whether you are family or friend, Soror, coworker, near or far! I hope you were recognized for everything that you do and everything that you stand for! I want to tell you that I love you and HAPPY MOMMY's DAY!

I felt the need to pass on the following scriptures to you...(I will never know if you don't read it all,
but I hope you do!)
Proverbs 31:10-31 (Living Bible Version)...so you can understand clearly.. =)
10. If you can find a truly good wife, she is worth more than precious gems! 11. Her husband can trust her, and she will richly satisfy his needs. 12. She will not hinder him, but will help him all her life. 13. She finds wool and flax and busily spins it.  14. She buys imported foods, brought by ship from distant ports. 15. She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plans the day's work for her servant girls. 16. She goes out to inspect a field, and buys it; with her own hands she plants a vineyard. 17. She is energetic, a hard worker, 18. and watches for bargains. She works far into the night!
19.20. She sews for the poor, and generously gives to the needy. 21. She has no fear of winter for her household, for she has made warm clothes for all of them. 23. She also upholsters with finest tapestry; her own clothing is beautifully made - a purple gown of pure linen. 23. Her husband is well known, for he sits in the council chamber with the other civic leaders. 24. She makes belted linen garments to sell to the merchants. 25. She is a woman of strength and dignity, and has no fear of old age. 26. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says. 27. She watches carefully all that goes on throughout her household, and is never lazy. 28. Her children stand and bless her; so does her husband. He praises her with these words: 29. "there are many fine women in the world, but you are the best of them all!" 30. Charm can be deceptive and beauty doesn't last, but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised. 31. Praise her for the many fine things she does. These good deeds of hers shall bring her honor and recognition from even the leaders of the nations.

We may not all be wives...yet we could had been at one time, but above it all we are all women and have played a mothering role somewhere in your life and / or someone else's life!
With this said...I felt these words were extremely powerful to me! We may not possess all of these ideals above, but we are always striving to do our best and WILL ALWAYS be a work in

On another note, here are a few pics from the weekend for Mothers Day Celebration...
Below is my place mat at Bre's Mothers Day Tea at her school...was totally awesome, loved!

Happy Mother's Day!!

National Scrapbook Day / Weekend

Morning!

Many of my friends are celebrating National Scrapbook Day all over the world. If you are not into scrapbooking or crafts this would mostly likely mean absolutely nothing to you...lol!

Anyhow, I have been in Oceanside since yesterday for a weekend crop, but I'm being forced to leave early as my little friend has a birthday party to attend today. But its all good.
It has been a great weekend being able to catch up with some of my long time scrap buddies, Marie C., Billie L., Robin R., Jennifer P. Wendy C. and Miss Elena. Met many other nice ladies as well.

Well here is a layout that I am entering for the Scrap Your Stash blog challenge:
I chose to use a past sketch of Rochelle's and I used the following in the layout:
Tag
Washi Tape
Twine
Paint
Wood Pieces
Ribbon
Bling
Brads

That was fun...well here it is:
Sketch was snagged from Miss Rochelle...

You are probably wondering WHY I only have one l layout done and I have been here the entire weekend. Well the reason is, I volunteered to make little paper bag books for all of her little cute Kinder friends. School is out in a couple of weeks and it was best that I got it together and got them done! So here is a pic of them as well...all 31!!

Below is a silly pic of me and my boo thang Wendy and we got photobombed as well...lol...below that is a "normal" pic.

Weekend Recap: Artsy Fartsy'ness & QT With Her!

Quick recap on my weekend. This weekend I had my Bre Bre and we had a good one to say the least!

Friday, I helped out in her class, she always loves when mommy comes and helps her and her friends in her Kinder class. After class was dismissed we decided to go to the library. Fontana has an awesome Library which was built a few years ago. They have this awesome projection on the wall that kinda digitizes people as they walk by...(did I spell that right? Or is that even a word? I think you catch my drift!) Anyway...you can see us below...I tried to capture a pic of us on the wall...very cool!

Bre picking out some books...she got a total of 7 books...so we need to make sure we read these bad boys in a week...lets do this! Reading is fundamental! These kids need to continue to learn about hands on in the library as our world continues to evolve around technology. Please make sure your children have library cards. =) Bre thinks hers is a credit card..she  hasn't quite gotten the concept that we are "borrowing" vs. "purchasing". All she sees is a card and she is equating that to an ATM card I guess..lol.

Saturday Morning, I tried to get out of playing Barbies for awhile...see playing Barbies requires physical work...usually on the floor....lol. This is maybe the only thing about being a single child that sucks cause you always have to beg mom to play...lol...and then she gets the nerve to get upset when I don't role play correctly! LOL!!! Anyways little girl!

Later on that day, we went to a park where she enjoyed swinging high. I remember the days she was so afraid of the swing, and then when she didn't know how to swing, now she tells me "don't worry mom!" when she starts swinging too high!!
**Met an interesting someone at the park...very interesting.

Later that evening, my mommy served me some Golden Vanilla and that good ole Magic Shell! Whoop! Whoop! This is one of my all time favs and always yummier when its a scrapping treat!

I got creative this weekend as well...and here is what I came up with. Played in my art journal, completed a few challenges...and got a little dirty... =)
Journaling Reads, "I cannot change yesterday, BUT I CAN change today!" True words...

I have a funny I received during SuperBowl....when the power went out....LOL!!! Love Sweet Brown!
Me & Bre got artsy fartsy together!

More Art Journaling: "BE Brave, BE True, BE You!"
A layout challenge I did..., I am so tired...I will put links up in another post as I need to link it all up so I can be eligible for the contest. =)

....WOW....one of my layouts just got deleted....alrighty then..patience running...lol

Other work I did this weekend...

"Always & forever love being artsy fartsy!"
"to be true you must embrace the life that's calling you. Bloom and listen to the whispers in your soul"

Goodnight! Tomorrow is Monday...I need to be in bed!
Holla at ya girl when ya see me in the streets!
